Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist Benjamin Justice Soghie, Chairman and CEO of E.I.A Concept Limited, has been honoured as one of Yessiey Africa’s 100 Most Impactful People of 2024. The recognition was announced at the prestigious Yessiey Awards, organized by Yessiey Magazine, celebrating individuals who are making meaningful contributions across Africa.
Soghie received the award in recognition of his remarkable humanitarian work through the Benjamin Justice Soghie Foundation, which has positively impacted over 100,000 lives across Nigeria. His foundation has supported vulnerable communities through initiatives in healthcare, education, economic empowerment, elder care, and access to justice.
In his acceptance speech, Soghie described philanthropy as his life’s calling, quoting 2 Corinthians 9:12 to emphasize the spiritual value of service. He dedicated the award to the resilient individuals and communities his foundation supports, expressing deep gratitude to his team, partners, and family for their continued support.
Over the years, the Benjamin Justice Soghie Foundation has rolled out various long-term programs, including medical outreaches, scholarships, and welfare packages for the elderly and underserved populations. Soghie stressed that philanthropy is a journey, not a destination, calling for consistent and sustainable interventions.
Beyond philanthropy, Soghie used the occasion to spotlight the need for industrialization in Africa, urging policymakers and private sector leaders to develop innovative financing solutions and inclusive industrial policies. He noted that while philanthropy helps reduce suffering, industrial development is key to job creation and economic empowerment.
“No economy can grow without strong industries, and no society can thrive without employment,” Soghie stated. He also emphasized that tackling financing challenges for African entrepreneurs and businesses is essential for long-term progress.
This latest honour adds to Soghie’s growing list of accolades, including previous nominations for the Africa Illustrious Award and his induction into the British Computer Society, further solidifying his reputation as a leader dedicated to social impact and national development.
“I accept this award as a renewed call to action—to serve more, to build more, and to inspire more,” Soghie affirmed. “Together, we can energize Africa’s transformation.”
Benjamin Justice Soghie remains steadfast in his mission to expand humanitarian efforts, support youth development, and advocate for economic policies that drive inclusive and sustainable growth across the continent.
