Mabel Oboh, a Veteran broadcaster, media relations and publicity expert, criminologist, humanitarian, and Ex-Edo Governorship Candidate,(2020), is a Nigerian Vectran broadcaster who has been bestowed with the prestigious (YESSIEY ‘MEDIA PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR’). In 2022, she was awarded ‘Media Per Excellence Of The Year’ by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Mabel oboh, a grassroots pioneer of Nollywood, in the mid-80s, was the second female independent movie producer in Nigeria, with her debut,’ Victims’ an NTA Nigeria Television Authority, network popular Drama Soap. She went on to produce Television movies, documentaries, commercials, etc.

She also created the the first chat show in Nigeria (Chat with Mabel) in the early 2000. Founder of MOCSOS, an NGO for entertainers’ welfare and healthcare. Mabel is also the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Political party’s national publicity secretary in Nigeria.

Mabel oboh is an experienced media personality, who started her career in the entertainment industry with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in the early 80s as the 2nd independent movie producer/ director/scriptwriter and actress. She later took full employment and trained with NTA as a newscaster/ journalist and later became NTA Network Lagos statehouse news correspondent with media guru Deji Idowu in the early 90s. As a media professional to the core, oboh has used her experiences to venture into other walks of life. Such as working for the United Nations, the British Embassy in Poland, etc.

As a UK-trained criminologist, she gave Edo State Governor Obaseki a run for his money when she contested fervently for the number one position in the State in Edo 2020 where she came 4th position out of 14 contestants.
