La’baleo Collections, the Lagos-based fashion brand renowned for redefining African elegance through timeless craftsmanship and modern sophistication, proudly unveils its latest creative achievement — the Afrocentric Collection.

The new collection celebrates African heritage, identity, and artistry, merging the richness of traditional craftsmanship with the precision of contemporary tailoring. Each piece in the collection tells a story — one of heritage, confidence, and evolution — designed to remind Africans and admirers of African fashion around the world that culture is not just history; it is living art.

“The Afrocentric Collection goes beyond fashion — it’s a journey of identity, purpose, and legacy,” said the Creative Director and Founder of La’baleo. “Each design represents the pride of our heritage, the resilience of craftsmanship, and the beauty of African creativity. It’s my way of selling Nigeria to the world in my own little way.”
The Afrocentric Collection features eight striking designs — four agbadas and four suits — each inspired by African royalty, spirituality, and artistry. From richly embroidered agbadas to minimalist kaftans and regal tunics, the line bridges the gap between traditional heritage and modern style.

Every fabric, color, and texture has been carefully selected to symbolize strength, purity, and elegance. The collection showcases a rich palette of royal blues, earthy browns, and pristine whites, representing wisdom, grounding, and timeless sophistication. The use of Aso-Oke, adire-inspired marbling, and handwoven cotton blends reflects the brand’s dedication to authentic craftsmanship and cultural preservation.
“We’re redefining Afrocentric fashion,” the Creative Director explained. “It’s not just cultural wear; it’s timeless, versatile, and globally relevant. Each piece is designed to make men feel royal within themselves — not because of wealth or status, but because of heritage, confidence, and purpose.”

According to the designer, the creation process took almost nine months, from the first sketches to the final fittings. Every stage — from fabric sourcing to experimenting with new dye techniques — was a labor of love. One of the biggest turning points came when the team discovered a unique marble-effect dye technique, which became a signature highlight of the collection.
While the designs were conceptualized by the Founder, the brand credits its dedicated team of tailors, pattern makers, and stylists for bringing the vision to life. Together, they combined traditional craftsmanship with luxury finishing, ensuring that every stitch reflects the elegance and excellence La’baleo is known for.
“The Afrocentric Collection represents a defining chapter in La’baleo’s journey,” the Creative Director added. “It’s where our roots and our evolution meet. La’baleo isn’t just a brand; it’s a movement of style, strength, and self-expression — rooted in Africa but designed for the world.”
The Afrocentric Collection officially launches this season in Lagos, Nigeria, followed by an international online release on the brand’s website: www.labaleo.com. Customers can explore the full collection, view detailed lookbooks, and place custom or ready-to-wear orders directly online. Global clients will also have access to worldwide shipping and personalized virtual fittings, offering a luxurious shopping experience from anywhere in the world.
With the Afrocentric Collection, La’baleo Collections continues its mission to showcase African excellence through design — telling powerful stories of identity, culture, and pride through every piece.
“Beyond fashion, this collection is a tribute to the hands that weave, the minds that imagine, and the hearts that never stop creating,” said the Creative Director. “African creativity is not secondary — it’s original, regal, and infinite. In every thread, I see not just style, but soul. And that, to me, is what La’baleo stands for.”
