Singer and songwriter Oluwaseun Olaegbe, known professionally as Skilzar, who hails from Lagos, Nigeria has appeared on the Star Spotlight digital cover of Yessiey Magazine, drawing attention for his growing presence across music and technology.
Skilzar recently released a four-track extended play (EP) titled Euphoria, a project that has sparked conversations among listeners. The EP features Mercy (Pray), Novacane, She Say, and Dance For Me. Blending Afro-fusion sounds with melodic arrangements and reflective lyrics, the project highlights the artiste’s evolving vocal style and songwriting approach.

His interest in music began early. Raised in a home where music was encouraged, Skilzar started performing at school events as a child and later began writing songs during his secondary school years. These early experiences helped shape his artistic direction and long-term commitment to music.

Beyond his work as a recording artiste, Skilzar has also built a career in the technology space. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering and has completed online web programming certified training on Harvard. He is also a Google-trained digital marketing strategist. This background has influenced his approach to creativity, allowing him to merge technology with artistic expression.

He is the founder of Skilzar Digital, a digital media company, and the creator of Yessiey Magazine. Through these platforms, he has worked to support creatives and businesses by providing digital media and public relations services. The idea for Yessiey Magazine, according to Skilzar, was shaped by his awareness of the financial challenges many emerging creatives face in accessing quality media exposure.

Balancing a developing music career with the demands of running a tech-focused business has not been without its challenges. Skilzar has described music as a personal outlet, noting that songwriting and performing offer a sense of relief and balance alongside his professional responsibilities.
His recent appearance on the Yessiey Magazine cover saw him dressed in an all-black Piatti Bespoke suit. The cover image generated positive reactions across social media, with followers commenting on his style and applauding his steady growth across multiple creative fields.
As Skilzar continues to explore both music and technology, his work reflects a broader trend of Nigerian creatives finding new ways to blend art, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
