The election petition tribunal sitting in Osogbo has sacked Adeleke Ademola as governor of Osun State.
The tribunal also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Adeleke and declare the former Governor, Oyetola Adegboyega, winner of the July 16, 2022 governorship election in Osun state.
Justice Tetsea Kume declared that INEC didn’t fully comply with the constitution and provisions of the electoral act, he, subsequently deducted the over-voting observed from the votes scored by the candidates and declared that Oyetola won the election, having polled 314, 921, while Adeleke’s score came down to 290, 266.
