United Nations reports from the Turkey-Syria earthquake that no less than 7 million children have been affected.
A total of 10 provinces have been affected by the earthquake in Turkey and reports show the total number of children in those provinces is 4.6 million. James Elder, spokesman for the UN children’s agency UNICEF said the total number of children affected in Syria is 2.5 million.
40,000 people have so far been confirmed dead. Elder believes the casualties could be more than this. According to him, the numbers will increase. Even without verified numbers, it is tragically clear that numbers will continue to grow,” he said.
