A Youtuber and self-styled “danger tourist, Miles Routledge has been captured by Taliban’s feared counter-intelligence unit in Kabul. The British YouTuber is among three British men being held by the Taliban secret police.
The 23-year-old YouTuber who goes by the name ‘Lord Miles’, has over 60K subscribers on YouTube and over 140,000 followers on Twitter. He lives with the motto of going to the “most dangerous places on earth” just to have fun.
The Taliban security officer confirmed the arrest of multiple foreigners last week to the Telegraph and stated that the reason for their arrests was because the group was found partaking in “suspicious activities” and was being held with the Taliban’s Counter Intelligence department in Kabul.
It is not the first time Routledge will visit Afghanistan, he visited the country in August 2022 during the Taliban takeover of the country. He was lucky to have acquired a spot on a British Army evacuation flight to Dubai.
Even as thousands of Afghans who had worked with British troops were left behind to face the ongoing targets from the Taliban.
Clips from his adventurous trip to Afghanistan are on his YouTube, with the video of him meeting with an alleged Taliban gunrunner having over a million views on YouTube. In this video, he is seen firing automatic weapons with a Taliban fighter. A move he describes as “lots of fun”.
